The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig (PLP) successfully held the 2025 PLP Quality Assurance Stakeholders Conference on November 21, 2025, at the PLP Auditorium, bringing together LGU Officials, university administrators, faculty and staff, community partners, and city government representatives to strengthen collaboration in advancing quality education and social capital in Pasig City.

The program opened with a solemn invocation by the PLP Himig Chorale, setting a reflective tone for the morning. This was followed by a warm and inspiring welcome message from the University President, Dr. Glicerio M. Maningas, who emphasized the significance of the conference as a platform for collective commitment, transparency, and continuous improvement. Dr. Maningas highlighted that social capital—trust, shared purpose, and community connection—is vital in ensuring that PLP serves as a “daluyan ng pag-asa” for families and communities who entrust their future to the institution.

Vice Mayor Robert Vincent Jude “Dodot” B. Jaworski Jr. graced the event and delivered an uplifting inspirational message, underscoring the city government’s steadfast support for programs that strengthen education, public trust, and community development. He reaffirmed the LGU’s commitment to working hand in hand with PLP to create opportunities and pathways for quality education.

The highlight of the program was the keynote lecture of Dr. Raymund Arcega, President of the Association of Local Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (ALCUCOA). In his talk titled “Quality Assurance and the Role of PLP in Building the Social Capital of Tomorrow,” Dr. Arcega discussed how accreditation processes serve as a roadmap for institutional improvement and public accountability. He offered clear recommendations to help PLP prepare for upcoming accreditation activities and commended the University’s notable achievements—particularly its programs that placed in the Top 10 of PRC Licensure Examinations, a testament to academic excellence and dedication to continuous quality enhancement.

The conference concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Jesus Rodrigo Torres, Member of the PLP Board of Regents. Dr. Torres emphasized the shared responsibility among stakeholders in nurturing PLP as an institution that embodies integrity, excellence, and service to the people of Pasig. He encouraged everyone to carry forward the insights gained and to remain committed partners in building a strong educational foundation for future generations.

The half-day conference reaffirmed PLP’s strategic direction toward becoming a community-centered, outcomes-driven, and socially responsive university. By strengthening partnerships and embracing quality assurance principles, PLP continues to play a significant role in building social capital and shaping the future of Pasigueño learners.
