Mission, Vision & Objectives

Mission

To prepare future teachers who are imbued with the ideals, aspirations and traditions of Philippine life and sufficiently equipped with pedagogical knowledge and skills to be globally competitive through relevant education and research, provisions for the mastery of general education subjects, integration of theory and practice, intensification of professional subjects, provision for community exposure and total immersion in practice teaching.

Vision

The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig – College of Education envisions itself to be a truly educational and value-oriented community dedicated to teaching, research and community service to future teachers who are academically competent, responsible, productive and ready to face the demands of a rapidly changing society and the challenges of global competitiveness.

Objectives

Specifically, teacher education programs are expected to produce teachers who can assume the following major roles:

    • To be an effective synthesizer of organized knowledge to allow analytical and critical thinking.
    • To be an efficient promoter and facilitator of learning to enable the learners develop to the fullest their potential for a continuing pursuit of self-education.
    • To become committed humanist whose clear understanding and appreciation of human ideals and values which inspire learners to reach greater heights of human aspirations.

Policy on promotion, probation & dismissal


College of Education students:

    • must maintain a minimum grade of 83% for ALL COURSES and a general weighted average of 85% and above.
    • must possess desirable attitude and behavior towards work and must possess a pleasing personality.
    • must adhere to attendance and punctuality policy.
    • must get along well with peers and authority.
    • must have effective communication skills.

Based on the general University Policy, if a student got 3 failing grades in a semester, he/she will be separated from the University.

In the two programs, Elementary and Secondary Education, the students who do not reach the cut-off grade in one course:

    • maybe put under probationary status for one semester only and must sign an agreement with the Dean provided that the student is not yet subjected to such conditions before. The probationary status is given only once.
    • Student should pass the year-end evaluation and deliberation given by the College of Education Faculty Members.
    • Shifting from Education course to another course in PLP is not allowed.
