The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig (PLP) formally joined the Metropolitan Manila Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development Consortium (MMIEERDC) during its 2nd General Assembly Meeting on 10 December 2025 at the Eulogio Rodriguez Vocational High School Social Hall in Manila.
The event gathered leaders from higher education institutions, national government agencies, and industry partners in a united effort to strengthen Metro Manila’s research and innovation ecosystem. PLP’s membership was officially affirmed through the signing of the Letter of Commitment by University President Dr. Reggie M. Maningas, alongside the Metro Manila Development Authority and the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA.
To ensure sustained engagement, PLP designated Dr. Noreen A. Perez as its Permanent Focal Representative and Mr. Edren Mancilla as Alternate Representative. Through its participation in MMIEERDC, PLP affirms its commitment to advancing research that responds to the needs of Pasig City and the wider NCR and to pursuing innovations that uplift communities and contribute to the common good.
PLP expressed its deep appreciation to the Department of Science and Technology–National Capital Region (DOST-NCR) and Director Romelen T. Tresvalles for facilitating the University’s entry into the consortium. The University also conveyed its gratitude to Ms. Bianca Claudette R. Canlas, Consortium Governing Council Chairperson and Assistant Regional Director for Technical Support Services of DOST-NCR, Dr. Jessa Frida T. Festijo, Consortium Director and Director for the Research and Innovation Center of Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU), and Dr. Rogelio T. Mamaradlo, President of Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST), for graciously hosting the assembly. PLP further extends heartfelt thanks to all MMIEERDC member institutions for their warm welcome, a gesture that reinforces the consortium’s spirit of partnership and shared purpose.
