The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig (PLP) successfully conducted the seminar “Employment Coaching 101: From Job Search to Career Success” on April 29, 2026, with the active participation of graduating students from various academic programs.
The activity opened with an inspiring message from Dr. Reggie M. Maningas, University President, who emphasized that employability remains a key measure of the effectiveness of tertiary education. He highlighted that while the University provides the necessary academic foundation and meaningful opportunities, the responsibility of becoming employment-ready ultimately lies with the students themselves.
In his address, Dr. Maningas underscored that education must go beyond the classroom and translate into the ability to secure meaningful employment, sustain oneself, and contribute positively to society. He encouraged the graduating students to continuously enhance their skills, remain adaptable to the evolving demands of the workforce, and take an active role in shaping their personal and professional growth.
The seminar featured two distinguished resource speakers who shared valuable and practical insights. For the morning session, Ryan Roberto E. Delos Reyes, Senior Labor and Employment Officer from the Department of Labor and Employment – NCR, provided strategies to help students effectively transition from academic life to the professional world. In the afternoon session, Mr. Iverson Infante from the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) offered further guidance on employment opportunities and workforce readiness.
During the seminar, students were equipped with essential knowledge and skills necessary for employment. Discussions focused on how to effectively manage stress in the workplace, apply practical and impactful interview techniques, and demonstrate proper etiquette and professionalism throughout the job hunting process.
The seminar served as a vital platform for students to gain practical knowledge, reflect on their readiness for employment, and better understand the expectations of the professional world. It reinforced PLP’s commitment to producing not only graduates, but individuals who are competent, confident, and truly career-ready.
