The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig (PLP) welcomed evaluators from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) – Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) for an on-site inspection aimed at securing Certificates of Program Compliance (COPC) for eleven academic programs.
The review, which seeks to elevate programs from Government Recognition to COPC status, covered Accountancy, Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Elementary Education, and Secondary Education (Major in English, Math and Filipino).
The visit opened with a solemn doxology and national anthem by the Himig Chorale, followed by a welcome message from PLP President Dr. Glicerio Maningas. “This process is more than compliance—it’s a commitment grounded in our mission to empower youth through education,” he said.
University Administrator Ms. Rowena Gil introduced the CHED-RQAT evaluators: Dr. Renato Villegas, Mr. Sonny Lukban, Ms. Marife Flores, Ms. Rochelle Jimenez, Ms. Maridel Negradas, and Mr. Victor Emil Castelo.
The evaluators conducted thorough assessments of program administration, faculty credentials, curriculum, student services, facilities, and resources. Their findings and recommendations, discussed in a post-evaluation conference, will guide PLP’s continuing efforts to enhance academic quality.
The engagement drew strong support from university officials, faculty, and students. Preparations were led by Engr. Greta M. Rosario, Director of the Quality Assurance Office.
PLP conveyed its sincere gratitude to the CHED-RQAT team for their invaluable insights and steadfast support, recognizing the visit as a significant milestone in the university’s ongoing journey toward academic excellence.
