The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig (PLP) successfully underwent the inspection and monitoring of its Electronics Engineering program by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Professional Regulatory Board for Electronics Engineering on April 13, 2026.
The inspection team, led by Hon. Vicente L. Cejoco, Chairman of the Board, together with PRC-NCR Representative Ms. Angel Anne M. Detuya, conducted a comprehensive evaluation which included document review, laboratory and facilities inspection, interviews with key personnel, and an ocular visit of the campus.
Anchored on its mandate under the PRC Modernization Act of 2000, the visit aimed to assess compliance, ensure the quality of instruction, and strengthen the standards of professional education in Electronics Engineering.
Following the evaluation, the University was granted a Compliance Certification valid for three (3) years, affirming that the PLP Electronics Engineering program meets the required standards set by the PRC.
In his message, Chairman Vicente L. Cejoco underscored that the engagement is meant to be more than a regulatory exercise. He emphasized that such visits should serve as a space for constructive dialogue where insights are shared, expectations are clarified, and institutions move together toward strengthening not only individual programs, but the broader ecosystem of engineering education. He further noted that meaningful coordination between higher education institutions and national regulatory bodies is essential and not merely as a requirement, but as a shared responsibility to students, to the profession, and to the nation.
In his welcome message, University President Dr. Reggie M. Maningas emphasized that PLP does not view such engagements as mere compliance, but as part of a larger commitment to quality, rigor, accountability, and the protection of the future of its students and their families. He reaffirmed the University’s guiding principle: Edukasyon para sa Sarili, Pamilya, at Bayan.
The inspection also recognized several institutional strengths, including PLP’s established alumni tracking system, active community engagement, strong partnerships for academic and professional development, participation in academic competitions, and sustained in-house review initiatives.
At the same time, the PRC provided key recommendations to further enhance the program, including strengthening linkages with national and international agencies for faculty upskilling and laboratory development, as well as enhancing in-house review mechanisms.
For PLP, the engagement goes beyond compliance. It reflects a continuing commitment to quality, accountability, and the future of its students.
Guided by this principle, PLP remains steadfast in ensuring that every program it offers meets the highest standards, empowering its students to uplift their families and contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
